The EU-Passworld Roundtable on “Creating Synergies Between Complementary Education and Labour Pathways: First Lessons Learned” in Paris brought together over 50 participants from 10 countries, including EU institutions, governments, international organizations, NGOs, employers, and refugees. Organized by ICMC Europe, the Share Network, and Synergies Migrations, with support from the Embassy of Canada to France, the event explored innovative frameworks to integrate displaced individuals into education and labour pathways in Belgium, Ireland, and Italy.

Presentations featured representatives from the European Commission, Talent Beyond Boundaries, Caritas Italiana, Sciences Po, and other organizations, highlighting pilot programs, pre-departure training, and community sponsorship models. Key discussions addressed challenges in scaling initiatives, the role of flexible frameworks, and the importance of multi-stakeholder partnerships.

The discussion captured insights into aligning pathways with global market needs, emphasizing collaboration, sustainability, and adaptability in supporting refugees through integrated educational and employment opportunities.
