The Share Network releases Regional Factfiles on the SIRA regions
At the Share Network, we advocate for policymaking guided by evidence gathered from and in collaboration with local communities. Through data collection and information sharing, we believe that the experiences of local communities can influence the development of better integration policies and practices at all levels of governance. We are therefore very proud to release our regional factfiles to expand and disseminate data on the 10 rural regions in Greece, France, Poland and Spain where the Share SIRA project is currently being implemented.
The SIRA project has established multi-stakeholder cooperation platforms in the 10 regions covered by the factfiles. These platforms encourage synergies between regional/local authorities, civil society organisations, migrant and refugee-led organisations as well as other local actors working on the design and implementation of inclusive territorial approaches for the orientation and integration of migrants and refugees. The participation of migrants and refugees in the platform’s activities as experts with lived experience, rather than just beneficiaries of integration services, is an essential aspect of the project.
Over the past year, our platform stakeholders and the implementing partners of the SIRA project have:
mapped actors and ongoing integration initiatives for newcomers in the 10 project regions,
assessed existing integration strategies and policies,
and identified challenges and gaps.
These data have been consolidated and have taken the form of factfiles, available in English and in the original languages of each region (French, Spanish, Greek and Polish). You can access them by visiting the dedicated pages for each regional platform: Corrèze (France), Isère (France), Saône-et-Loire (France), Vaucluse (France), Karditsa (Greece), Lower Silesia (Poland), Mazovia (Poland), Guadalajara (Spain), Soria (Spain) and Teruel (Spain).
